The cross, an instrument of death and a cruel punishment, surely not fit for any man. This cruel method of torture and death was to bring an end to Christ and the message He came to share. Oh but it was not the end, but merely the beginning of a wonderful fulfillment of God's plan for us, for on the third day He arose from the darkness of the tomb, victorious over death. The message of the cross is life everlasting through the death and resurrection of the one they cannot silence. This cross belonged to a resident I cared for several years ago. After he passed away, a family member presented it to me as a token of their appreciation for the care their Father received. A gift I cherish.
