A friend asked me to take some Christmas photos of her girls. They were not very happy to have their photos taken, and they would not cooperate to have them done together so I took a huge number of singles and sorted my way through them to come up with several that I could edit. I do not think I am cut out for portrait photography. It is so challenging to get everyone to cooperate. The ones I managed to get ended up being pretty nice. She was pleased. I do not like that pressure.
I understand exactly! Although I didn't have "model" problems when I did Christopher and Betsy's baby photos, I felt so pressured to get each and every shot perfect! And last weekend my friend wanted me to take photos of the baby shower and my camera is not cut out for candids- I just felt so bad that so many didn't really come out that great. But this one is good Rick- she's got some eyes! I would just recommend bringing a little more color up in her skin tone.
Darling shot of one of your little models, Rick! So precious with her Christmas dress and teddy bear!! I know what you mean about portrait photography...it's not as easy as it seems. I have a heck of a time getting a decent shot of my grandchildren together. I have to take dozens of rapid fire shots in the hopes that I get one that has them both looking in the same direction and smiling. :)
@olivetreeann It was quite stressful Ann. Actually this is just one of several edits where it is to be a very muted skin color, almost all B/W except for the dress. I have a few other versions where the skin tone is natural.
