Thanks for sharing. I was lucky to see Queen Mary 2 in Perth, Western Australia last week. Ship was heading to Maldives.
Queen Mary 2
Length: 345 metres
Size: 151,400 tonnes (GRT)
Height: 62 metres above the water
Width: 41 metres (45 metres including bridge wings)
Capacity: 2620 guests plus 1253 crew
Maximum speed: 30 knots or 55kmh
Built at a cost of US$800 million, Cunard’s 151,400-tonne flagship Queen Mary 2 is almost twice as large as the original Queen Mary and more than double the size of the legendary Queen Elizabeth 2.

What an awesome photograph. I was fortunate to dine aboard the RMS Queen Mary http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/4/4e/RMS_Queen_Mary_Long_Beach_January_2011_view.jpg when I lived in southern California. An amazing experience to visit the ship.

My husband's cousin, Captain Nick Bates, was the Captain of QM2 and QE2 before her. Sadly, my husband refused to take a cruise whilst we had the opportunity!

@gosia - Thanks for posting those statistics! Very interesting

@cgarner - @tomtom - @steampowered - I'm glad you enjoyed them as much as I did!

@bigugly - Lucky you! Thanks for posting your picture too!

@julieco - That would have been quite the opportunity, but not everyone is up for cruising. Thanks for your story.

My husband loves cruises, not my cup of tea, but sometimes you have to do things. We went last summer on the QM2 to the Norwegian Ffords huge ship, lovely friendly staff, beautiful country and we did see some lovely sights.
