Dodging and Burning is a "trick" even Ansel Adams used, albeit he did it with a negative the hard way. We are all the beneficiaries of modern technology.
So, if you use Photoshop, and do not dodge and burn to add or detract light (which is primarily what I use it for, then you may find this simple tutorial helpful.
I learn better visually than by reading a tutorial, so this was just excellent! Thanks for sharing... now to go find some discarded photos and give it a try!
