Thanks, Craig!
Stunning...stunning!
What a brilliant photographer.
I particularly like Phillip ( and will look for him, next time I am in town! ), and found the photos of the feet, the most moving.
But there is one, of someone lying on a bench, completely covered in sleeping bags, that is quite chilling. It looks like a death shroud.
Have you read about the running club that some guy started, for the homeless on the DTES? Apparently it's taking off like gangbusters, and some of the people who have joined in the running are finding that it gives them a purposeful goal and something meaningful to look forward to everyday.
I thought I'd read that a store is providing runners to the participants, too.
It's such a simple and inexpensive way to make the forgotten people feel good and gives them the opportunity to be a part of a "club"....I think it's so cool.
Thanks Barb, so many of his pictures are amazing considering they were taken right on our doorstep! I heard about the running club, such a simple idea yet so worthwhile!
Wow. After looking through those photos, I found the photographer's website. His life story is amazing, and what a great talent. Thanks for the info about him. http://www.ahmadkavousian.com/
