So, I have decided to enter a small photography competition held by the smaller city that I live in. It has several categories from professional to amateur, for just locals in the area. Its a chance to win $100 so I thought what the heck, I can enter as a hobbyist, right? Anyway, I have no idea which photos to enter, I can choose up to 3.
If you have a few free minutes and wouldn't mind browsing my project, I would love some help in choosing a few images which are different and stand out.
also, if you are bored, I would love some criticism/critique on some photos, pick choose, whichever ones you want. I would love to hear how you would make them better!
@landonsmoments it doesnt matter to me. Most of my photographs are my kids so if I enter 3, I dont think I could avoid it. On the website "We’re looking for diversity of approaches to subject matter and more personal vision." so I think anything could be fair game.
To show variety in your photos, I think I like the baby pushing the doorbell, your selfie that focuses on your eyes and the striped socks in the mirror.
Maybe you could go for the ones that you received the most favs for as this is what your followers have liked the most. I've seen your 2nd February one before and think it's stunning. And I also love your 28th Jan.
I love the following: "eyes" "drawers" and "favorite part of the day" - I am a kid-centric photog so those are what I looked at....lovely shots that bring out the innocence of little ones:) "watching water fall" is awesome as well!

I think Im going to go with the socks picture for sure. I also may go with my photo from yesterday, which is the watching water fall picture and the third is a toss up. I'll go through your suggestions again and decide. Thank you again, so much!
@brumbe I would love to get out and try a get a few pictures of the town. That's a great idea. The city parks are their own category. If I can do it in the next day or two I'm going to try it but I have to get my entries in ASAP so that just might not happen. As you know, little kids kind of run what you take pictures of and what you don't.

I ended up entering 3 photos in the contest, two of which were suggested by you all and one that I took that I never used in my 365 project. Anyway, contest judging was today and I ended up being one of the 10 winners and the only in both categories! So, thank you so much for your encouragement. it gave me enough confidence to actually go through with the contest and now Im up $200! :) I think I'll treat myself to a new camera bag. LOL. Thanks again!!!!!
That is so wonderful - congratulations!! You really are one of my favorite photographers on here. I hope one of them that you entered is "watching water fall". I've been meaning to come back on this thread and tell you that I often think of that picture - it really stuck with me!
@cristina3611 wow, that means so much to me! I always get so intimidated on this site and to hear something like that just gives me a little boost to push myself a little harder every day! And yes, watching water fall was the one that one the adult category so yay! :) Im glad that it stuck with you! I really like that one too.
