May 6th, 2012
Hi! I am just started with project 365 and I totally have no experience with photography. Does anyone have tips or improvements for me? I will really appreciate it if you have improvements or tips for coming pictures! (: Thanks a lot! :D

Just keep at it. I started my project having no idea what I was doing. I still don't, (Hence the lack of technical advice) and I just started my second year. You learn so much as the year goes on. All you have to do is stick with it. :)

@pien27 Not really the best person to offer advice, strictly a photo what I like kind of girl; Just looked at your shots and for me they are great. My advice is photo what interests you, as the passion will show in your shots. Search the internet for advice sites there are loads out there and this is a brilliant community you will get lots of advice. Check out others photos that you like, try to replicate not necessarily to post but to experiment. Ask how they achieved their shot, people will share info. Hope this helps a little, I am sure you will get much better advice though; First and foremost enjoy your project:0)

Just keep taking 'em. We all take crap pictures from time to time. Well... me perhaps more than some. I find the difficulty with 365 is I like to let my shots linger a while before I post them, then I can decide if I actually "like" them or not if that makes sense? Uploading a great shot every day is NOT going to happen. You'll probably look back and over your project and think what the H.E double hockey sticks was I thinking then! It happens. Keep clicking! ..........

A few starting pointers (and mind I'm not very good at this, either):

(1) Work on learning yourself 'the golden ratio' ( http://photoinf.com/Golden_Mean/Eugene_Ilchenko/GoldenSection.html)

(2) 30-40mm is comparative to the human eye

(3) Portraits should be taken at 70-85mm

(4) Get up close

(5) Most important of all: Enjoy yourself. What you like and the amount of work you put into it, will make a difference.

Not everyone agrees on the same things. Not everyone likes the same things. Decide for yourself.

Oh, and I almost forgot: What camera you use, doesn't really matter that much. It's what you do with it. Really.

Have a real good look round, it is amazing you can spend hours on here and get loads of tips and ideas. i have also found entering projects like WWYD and Albums covers to be helpful as they give you a chance to play around with editing too

1 word; PLAY.

Always try something new, even if it's something as simple as a different angle, don't be afraid of failure, and enjoy yourself with it.

PS Rules are there to be broken - but you need to ken what they are so you ken they're broken!

Read, learn and inwardly digest the (so-called) rules of composition.

Then completely disregard them.
