I have a Fujifilm Finepix bridge camera and I'm currently just 'messing around' with it without really knowing what I'm doing.
Any chance that some of you could have a look at my pictures and offer opinions on them (though please bare in mind I am a complete novice when trying to use editing programmes and all the lingo). Any ideas for future pictures would be great as I currently see the world as a mass of things with no idea how to make it look good
I borrowed a friends Fujifilm Finepix when my camera broke. I really liked it for a bridge camera. You could learn alot using it. Get involved here and try the Camera Setting Challenges and you will learn fast. Most you will be able to do with your camera. Go back and try some of the older challenges too. http://365project.org/discuss/themes-competitions/13715/csc-10-long-exposure-and-no-tripod
I have a bridge camera. I partly joined 365, because I needed to learn more. I shot in the point and shoot mode for a whole month because I did not understand my camera well enough. Then, I started trying out the other settings one by one and reading the camera manual. I asked questions of other 365ers and starting reading online photography tutorials. I looked at your photos. You are so much more advanced than I was at your stage. I had to work a lot on composition my first year. I did NOT edit a lot my first year. I did not even crop most of the time. I am learning editing and processing a little bit at a time. My advice is to go at your own speed and enjoy snapping!
@daisy Thanks. My camera never came with an instruction manual so trying to understand what everything does and all the settings is kind of hit-and-miss. Some of the online tutorials I've found assume you have a basic knowledge of the camera, so I struggle a bit at the moment with that. Fingers crossed I get to grips with it soon because once I start taking pics, I find it hard to stop : )
@singer90 - I had a look and commented on the "nuts" pic. Your best one so far, I think. This place will push you to try things, and think about things, in a different way. It's been helping me, that's for sure.
I've followed you, too.
