Please tell me what you think!

Hey guys! So I got this decoration yesterday and thought I should take a picture of it. I thought it looked pretty cool. But what do you guys think? Thanks
Happy Holidays!

I think you could work a bit more on the focus. The background looks sharp and I actually quite like the peeling paintwork. Maybe pull the purse away from the wall a little bit more. Just a suggestion.

@kareen Thanks I will definitely try!

I don't know why but I find the round bit in the top right corner distracting. I agree that the peeling paintwork is cool, I would maybe try framing it a different way to focus more on the purse and the paintwork without having the distracting bit and all that empty white space at the top. Hopefully that made sense, it made perfect sense in my head... :)

i agree with the others that it feels like the focus could be a bid sharper... and also that the circle in top right is distracting... but i also love the peeling paint - i don't think i would want the focus on the backdrop softened... i think tack sharp thru and thru with a flatter crop (ie, slice off the top) would look great!

crop the edges and sharpen the peeling paint so its like jumping off the page.

I have to agree with the others- sharpen the focus on the coin purse, the peeling paint makes the shot, and crop or clone out the round thing in the upper right hand corner (cropping preferred).

I'd move the ornament away from the wall, so you get some depth of field between the background and the object. Or move it away and stop down your aperture so they're both in focus. Crop the edges so the wall fills the frame.

For me it really depends on what you want to show with the image. Do you want it to be more about the bag, do you want it to be about the wall, or do you want it to be about both?

Personally for me, I'd want this to be more about the bag than the wall... In which case I would actually possibly even shoot it on a plain white background. But for this image :

1. Pull the bag about 1 foot away from the wall, this will give you greater separation from the background
2. Composition wise, i'd like to see more of the floor than the wall here and crop closer
3. Focus. Its got to be sharp. Use lines / edges for focusing... in this example, auto focus on the edge of the red / white of the union jack
4. Play with angles.. maybe try shooting from a slightly elevated position. Try getting down on your tummy and shooting from below to give the bag a more powerful feel

I would personally try playing with the composition. It feels like you're going for an offbeat sort of feel, so play to that - instead of having the clutch dead-on centre, zoom out a bit (so you get more of the background) and put the clutch to one side (using the rule of thirds if it suits).
