Why is it no matter what my friends posts they get tons of comments yet I get next to no comments every? Is there something wrong with my pictures? Am I doing something wrong? Would love any and all feedback.
Hi Katie :) wellllllll, I think it's a matter of not making yourself known around the community. People can't comment if they don't know you're there to begin with. Maybe it'd help if you looked around a bit, thus getting more exposure (har har, photography joke) yourself. I'm off to your album now :)
No, your pics don't suck, but your followers are not very productive... Do you write comments yourself a lot? I find that when you comment frequent, you get comments back. And it always helps to post a message like this ;)
@lovemysailor02 You don't comment of stuff, yet you are upset that others don't comment you? That there is your problem. This is a community of reciprocity. If you don't give much, you can't expect to get much.
I agree with the others' comments. To get people to comment on your own photos you have to go and comment on other people's photos and perhaps become a follower. I also posted an introductory post when I first joined. I just said hello and introduced myself to people. I also commented on a LOT of other people's photos at first and followed them if I liked their photos or subject matter, or if they were from my area.
Yes, reciprocity is the key . . . the more people you follow, the more comments you make on their work, then the more followers you will have and the more comments they will make on your work. Also, frequent the browse and pick, the theme entries, comment on things that catch your eye . . . it's a process. Good luck!
Oh no, honey there is nothing wrong with your pics. You have a great eye and what an awesome story you have to share as well about you and your hubbs. What I did was start following everyone I liked their pics. And I comment as much as I can on every pic that catches my eye. I also find that those same people comment on mine. It's like a little give and take.
You're doing awesome shots, now all you got to do is get them seen! Start following some people! :D
First of all; no, your photos don't suck (I followed you even before you posted this). And yeah, you don't have much comments because you don't have much followers. Like what Annie (@indiannie_jones) said, people can't comment if they don't know you're there to begin with, right? The best move is to browse around and comment on other people's work, or add them if you like their style---just make sure you genuinely like 'em, haha!
My attitude is usually: have a look around, and comment on what you like. No matter how tempting, don't try to backscratch just in order to get feedback. It works for me :-) Gonna check out those pics now ;-)
If you want something, you have to give something back in return - I agree with what others have said. Be proactive! Comment, post on topics, follow other people etc. You have to build up a name and reputation if you want attention :)
Katie, I'm also really knew to 365. It's weird at first but once you start posting more pictures and commenting more, people will start to get to know you better. And don't be discouraged this time of the year. With the holidays it's really hard for people to take the time to comment on as many pictures as they would like. But you're pictures most certainly do not suck!
I am curious. You posted here and on your project about not getting comments. Yet, as soon as you gave me a comment I replied. Everyone here is saying the same thing. Yet you have not replied to our comments. I think you should think this over.....
