Well . . . the obvious beauty of a flower is often its color . . . but that said, I love a black and white floral because it emphasizes the curves and texture of a flower . . . equally beautiful! I love this!
I think it's great in b&w. :) The thing with black and white is it relies on luminance contrast rather than colour contrast, and some colour combinations don't translate well into black and white because they don't contrast well (red and green, for example, can often look almost the same).
i agree with jinx, you need to pick the right photo, it will work with some and not so good with others, personally i'm not too fond of b&w flowers, however i do like yours that you posted, lovely textures :))
like wiser ones than I have said works with some doesn't with others. I love the colours of tulips, and often click back to colour when I'm editing mine, but there are textures and curves here that would have been lost in colour. I like.
I love your shot Brenda. I think florals can look beautiful in black and white; I've been known to take a few myself. And Jinx is right about some of them not translating well.
here's one i did... not really the most fab b/w floral.. but i kinda like how old it looks like,.. hihihihi
PS :
it's really hard to do black and whites in florals since the reason why we love flowers is the color it have... ^___^ so right photo is indeed needed for this... =)
