Welcome! One or two members have had their photos show up in publications and on websites without their permission. I wouldn't say it's a common occurrence, but it has happened. Personally I haven't been too concerned, but a lot of other people did choose to add a watermark, especially after that happened.
I watermark my photos because I am WAAAY too paranoid. (:
But no it's a common occurrence here AT ALL, compared with other websites, but I just do it because I add my photos to other websites as well.

@kellymet1cell One of the very talented photographers on here just (yesterday in fact) posted a very detailed, and simple to follow instruction guide to creating a watermark in photoshop. If you don't have photoshop you can use some place like picnik to add a simple text mark to your stuff if you feel the need.
