Nice! I'm very partial to B&W. In fact, I love it.
Here's one of mine that I'm quite proud of.
This started life as a decidedly below average photo. After cropping and a fair bit of post processing, it's ended up pretty good (thanks to Nik Silver Efex Pro).
@dgc4rter Well done. I didn't edit mine too much ... a slight cropping, coverted to high contrast b&w in Aperture then lessened the contrast, plus sharpening. I've heard good things about that plug-in; are their any others that you use?
I don't use many plug-ins. In fact, they're all Nik Software apart from Topaz Denoise - Color Efex 3.0, Sharpener 2.0 and Silver Efex (soon to be upgraded to version 2.0 and I can't wait!)
Silver Efex is definitely my favourite. I just love the mood you can create with B&W.
I used to be anti-processing. It was "cheating" and wasn't "pure." But more recently, I've come to accept that photo labs would process shots all the time in the days of film, adding color based on the film brand or the scene. In dark room processing, you could and would crop and straighten as needed.
So, I know that I need to get better at processing in order to become a better photographer. Most good ones use plug-ins like those from Nik software.
Sigh. Photography, like golf, is a hobby on which you can spend unlimited money.
You call this trolling?! You young punks don't even know the meaning of the word! Back in my day we knew what real trolling meant; trolling had real value, none of this etc etc rabble rabble...
"TROLLING; Being a prick on the internet because you can. Typically unleashing one or more cynical or sarcastic remarks on an innocent by-stander, because it's the internet and, hey, you can."
