I never like to criticise other people's pictures, basically because I'm not that clever myself! But seeing as you asked.....my reaction to this is nothing is quite in focus, I like the idea and the contrast in colours but I would have pulled out just a bit to get the top of one of these heads in the front and decide which one of these you want as the centre of attention. Never done this before so no offence please!! :-)

I'm pretty much with Cherrill, nothing is in focus, the top of the flowers would have been nice and also I think the colors are just a bit too saturated. But they do make a beautiful subject :)

yep i agree , or to crop it to just the focused bit so you end up with a macro of the little bell bits

Indeed try to focus on what you want to tell us with your pictures try to get it sharp. Only tiny sharp spot can be very intriguing. Same goes for your your tomato-pic of today! I like the colors ver much though. @Cherrill Critique is fine as long as it's positive right? There is too little criticism at 365 if you ask me :-)

@mastermek I know this is a photography site and people always hope to improve and ask for comments. However I think the tendency is for people to comment and fave when they like a picture. If they don't, rather than say, they just leave it uncommented. Sometimes I wish I knew why some of mine get very few comments and others are a great surprise! Everyone is so nice here so that's the upside :-)

do you tag you photos with critique when you want feedback? i've just recently started doing that so that people feel ok telling me where a pic can be improved.
for this shot i would crop off the left hand side completely as it is out of focus and very distracting,it actually gave me a bit of a headache looking at it,if you are going to try and reshoot it think carefully about the composition,as a pp said it would have ben nice to see the top of the flowers in the foreground

You if you can't get as close as you want to get the tops with the "landscape" framing, try the "portrait" setting (turning the camera on it's side :) That way you can get the whole flower and still get in closer.

Hey, I have a photo very similar to this one. It's at the beginning of my project, so it's not so great.

Yes if you tag critique-me on shots then it invites the more confident and professional out there to give really constructive help and advice when asked for, which i think is great!

@picturelover101 I'm by no means an expert so I'm just saying what I'd do if it had been my shot kind of thing- I like the purple but there's no single central focus, my eye goes do I look at this one or this one or this one?

I would probably have moved where I was standing so that the plume at the very right side
