I think it's good as is; maybe a little lighter around the eyes- but not absolutely necessary. It's more natural as is, as if it was a candid. Playing with the light and darkness might give it a studio/posed feeling.
I just was looking through your images. You seem to have a high contrast "look" to them. The wonderful thing about that is.... it's art! And the way you do it is your style and beautiful! I quite enjoy it :) Doesn't hurt that she's a cutie pie!! :)
I noticed most of your photos have a very high ISO and a very low and slow shutter speed. These should really be the opposite for crisper shots. An ISO of 1600 makes them grainy and shutter speeds below 60 (or 125 IMO) create a lot of camera shake. Keep your shutter speed as high as possible, ISO low as possible and generally your aperture on the lowest end for nice blurred backgrounds.
