@cchambers they are not shutting down for the time being at all. Also look at who they owe, WalMart, Target and CVS. It would behoove those stores to keep selling Kodak so they will get their investments back.
phew, I dodged a bullet then. My buddy was so sure they would pull out of it. He almost convinced me to purchase loads of Kodak stock for $.18 each. Now I hope he decided not to also.
@beautifulthing
you think it will become hot shit this quick? Polaroid stopped producing in 2008 and in 2010 the film was climbing £25, only £5 more than in 2008. Now it's £40. Maybe 3-4 years before stocks get low - don't you think?
Agfa and Fujifilm still good, I'm not worried, and I don't use any Kodak cameras, most of them are obsolete already on 110, 126 and APS.
I've never been a big fan of Kodak, but that's still terrible to see. =/ I can't imagine how many people this is going to affect, too, that work for the company throughout the world. Goodness.
Yeah its sad to see one of the pioneers leave.. its another one of those sad tales of not being able to innovate.
@meshinka well if you'd bought early last week and then sold later that week you'd have made a 50% profit - their share prices jumped as soon as they released the news of a new company strategy
@toxicalice92 they've been closing down production sites since the early 2000's so its been a gradual loss of jobs :(

"Mr Perez said Kodak had shed 47,000 jobs and closed 13 manufacturing plants and 130 processing labs since 2003"
