Photoshop Actions

January 31st, 2012
Anyone know of any sites for free photoshop actions. I have a handful but would love more. Especially when it comes to cross processing as I'm clueless at doing that yet manually, lol. Just looking for a nice mixture of stuff. Using CS5.

Google "Rita's Coffee Shop" She's got a ton of great, free actions, she also gives you a tutorial on how she did that action so you can do it yourself if you would like to learn or just download the action. She's got frames, actions, papers, you name it. She's very generous!

@kirstymcl write your own ;)! I have a few that I've done to make the uploading to 365 easier, resize adds the border (I add my watermark manually).

@neda I used a tutorial for my watermark but that's the only hand made action I've made but would love to make more.

Kirsty The Coffee Shop Blog is great and it even gives you tutorials for some of the actions which are really easy to follow.

@kirstymcl
I have one set for vertical one for horizontal uploads to 365.
It came about when I was uploading to my own website and needed to manually resize everything before adding a water mark (I'm now on zenfolio that adds a watermark for me automatically which saves a TON of time)
Actions are pretty easy these days in ps. If you notice you're doing the same thing for each photo just record the action, then save it.
Mine go
Image size
set selectoion
contract
inverse
fill
set selection (deselect)
set selection
contract
inverse
fill
set selection (deselect)

Just to add the double border (one white line one black line) to my photos. While I do still know the keyboard commands and will do it any time I have non standard dimensions I'm using it does save a lot of time to just be able to click once and have it all done for me.

@neda Thanks for that. At the mo I don't really do things regularly, still sussing things out but I think'll I'll give your border a go
