Your timing is perfect - I just 5 minutes ago recieved an invite from a friend, signed up, and am now trying to figure out what the hell I'm doing. I'm sure I'll figure it out, lol
@pwallis Say good bye to friends and family. Between Pinterest and 365 you will be very busy.
It basically is a giant scrap notebook that allows you to organize all the many great images from around the web. You follow people or their borads, and visa versa. You can also download pics straight from the internet by using the Pin It Button. Enjoy.
I signed up a few months ago and I keep getting messages saying that so and so is following me but I have no idea how it all works or what I'm meant to be doing!
I've had an account for about a month but this is the first I've even looked at it. Confused right now...but I can see it's addiction worthy!
You can 'follow' people? And if you repin, it is now on your board? http://pinterest.com/ashutterbugger/photography/ @pwallis@smapp
@kjarn Think of it as a kind of inspiration scrapbook. You create boards to help organize images from the web. When you sign in you will see things that the people you follow have posted. Under the drop down menus, you can also search everything on the site, or specific categories like photography.
@shutterbugger You can follow people and they can follow you just like 365. When you pin something you decide what board it is on, so you can reference it later. @malboromaam has her boards divided into western photographs, sunsets and favorite 365 images.
@pwallis It will post to FB or Twitter if you choose. It also allows you to search your Facebook friends to see if they are on Pinterest, or to invite them.
@shutterbugger I have put some of my own photos. My sister also posts some of my pics from 365. Unlike Etsy, It really is not supposed to be for self promotion. But on the other hand it allows you to put prices . I chose a middle ground and posted just a few.
just got an invite this past week.....my boards are a little bare...i haven't pinned any pictures yet...not sure what the rules are with that...esp since most pictures i see are on here http://pinterest.com/dmoney79/
@dkg You can add anything on the net by downloading the Pin It Button to your browser. You can follow people, or just go to the front page. You can even upload images.
@kjarn I don't know, I was pretty underwhelmed myself. I have an account and was into it for a couple of weeks - until I realized I was spending all my time pinning creative ideas instead of BEING creative. Sort of just another time suck IMO, and lord knows I have enough of those already. :)
@beautifulthing I had the same experience when i first started using it. But now that I am doing 365 I am more focused in how I curate. Found some great ideas to play with.
@michaelelliott Thank you, Michael! They are all pretty great photos - I think, and done by some mighty fine photographers here on 365! You among them, of course. I don't spend much time on Pinterest. I just add my fav 365er pics as I fav them on 365. It's easy to do and only takes a few seconds. I do enjoy seeing all these beautiful pics on my boards though! Course, I always ask first, unless I've been given permission to post anything I fav from a person here and there are a few of those folks.
I freakin luv PINTEREST!!!!!! That is how I found out about the 365 project. It is so addicting. I teach high school and almost all of my students are on it to. I think it is a great creative outlet with so many wonderful ideas. It is a great place to save things I see online and revisit them later. I have made a few recipes, taught a few of the lessons and bought an outfit from things I learned on pinterest.
@smapp Let me know if you ever need any lesson plans. Too bad your not closer, I have soooo many books that I don't use anymore. I love NC, beautiful beaches.

My board is http://pinterest.com/cmc1200/photography/ though it is looking a little slim right now. Once I got on 365, I began neglecting my pinterest.
