Orbs

March 23rd, 2012
There have been a lot of discussion on where to buy orbs, so I rushed out after hearing glowing reports about Sunrise imports and paid a fair bit for a decent size orb. Well 3 week on they tell me they forgot to process my order then finally today it arrives. Firstly it had none of the extras they said they would post because they forgot about my order and secondly my 1 large orb is actually 36 small ones >.< ...... What in the world am I going to do with them?

what gets me is 36??

While we are here why not show me your crystal balls :D
March 23rd, 2012
They all came with stands too!
March 23rd, 2012
Do you mean a crystal ball? : )
March 23rd, 2012
lol yes! my bad.
March 23rd, 2012
36!! Could produce some interesting shots, but I'd send them back, one is easy to carry around but 36! Sorry I am giggling too, poor you! ; ))
March 23rd, 2012
@lorraineb I know right LMAO.... I am sitting here with my mind racing, what picture can I take? should I keep them LOL
March 23rd, 2012
Line them all up in rows of 6 then look into them, it might work as a pic not too much unlike your profile one! : ))
March 23rd, 2012
@lorraineb Good idea :) thanks.
March 23rd, 2012
Yikes, that's intense. I think you should try to get a picture of all of them reflecting something large, graphic, and easily recognizable. Not sure how you'd attempt to focus there though ...

I was happy to just get my one a few weeks ago. It's the 80 mm size. How small are your small ones?

March 23rd, 2012
- yes - how big are they? I am looking for one (but not if it's too small).
March 23rd, 2012
I bought mine while on a trip to York, paid £18.00 for it. I really want to do a sunset (won't be long now) but here is a shot i did a couple od weeks ago to try it out.

March 23rd, 2012
mine is only 40mm - but it's produced some fun shots:

@archaeofrog @shanne Beautiful shots! I think mine are 40 mm by the looks. Here is a picture :)
March 23rd, 2012
You can get shots out of them if they are 40mm and they fit in your bag or pocket easily - more from me here http://www.flickr.com/photos/12323897@N04/6991082661/in/set-72157629606601119/
March 23rd, 2012

March 23rd, 2012
@asrai WOW! that is very intense, and a little on the scary side. Well done :D

I see "orb" and I think about the "orb weaving spider" webs I shot yesterday. Though I see now you are referring to crystal ball orbs.

80mm held by 9 yr old boy:

Also, the 40mm look adorable. I'd certainly use one that size!
March 23rd, 2012
@swguevin LOL I love the webs :D
March 23rd, 2012
@swguevin hmmm maybe that's an idea, I might do a giveaway from my facebook page :) I'll have to have a think about it.
March 23rd, 2012
I could do some fun stuff with 36 of them!

March 23rd, 2012
@tracywilliams Thanks, Tracy! I've found the best subjects are converging lines - bridges, railroad tracks, streets....good luck and do something amazing with your misfortunately shipped order! :)
March 23rd, 2012
@sdpace OMG! Stacey you just gave me the best idea! Thanks :D I am bursting for day light lol

March 23rd, 2012
I decided to experiment and do something outside of the ordinary.

March 23rd, 2012
@jtrudell From Tracy, hahaha ; )
March 23rd, 2012
These are wonderful. I've had great fun with a clear but patterned paperweight and at Christmas I thoroughly enjoyed myself with a little marble...(not the sort of thing you say every day...!)
Here's the marble

And the paperweight..
March 23rd, 2012
@jtrudell Not sunshine imports LOL.... sorry I can't help out there.
@dkg beautiful work, I like the second shot it's very dreamy :)
@lisjam1 great work! I like the patterns well done.
@lorraineb LOL Lorraine you just crack me up!
@filsie65 I am totally amazed by that marble :) your paper weight shot is very pretty too.

I personally want one about 40mm.... the 80mm is heavy..
March 24th, 2012
@cheribug I love the LOVE :D
March 24th, 2012
March 25th, 2012
@tracywilliams oh my gosh! Those are 35 of the balls in the background?? Stunning! Did you decide if you are giving them all a home, or are you sending them back for the larger one? I say keep 'em. One in the car, one in your purse, one at work ....... you can start a new 'macro' ball trend :)
March 25th, 2012
@misskish Thanks MissKish I gave one away today to my mum :) as for the rest I am not sure yet. I like your idea.
March 26th, 2012
I love these everyone but where on earth ( in Australia) do you buy these, does anyone know please?
March 27th, 2012
Haha, I just caught on to this (busy weekend), I saw your pic as a thumbnail and thought, 'cool, she bought a bunch of them'.
I only have one ($28) I used it today. I find it a little too big and heavy and want to get a small one too.
March 28th, 2012
I realised recently I had a small (pale pink) orb in the house. This is the best I've managed to date
