Underwater point and shoot

Hi, I'm saving up for a new camera, and I'd like it to be waterproof so that I can take pictures in a pool by my house, but I'd like to be good all-around as well. Suggestions?

my panasonic lumix ft3 is waterproof and i love it! it's the only camera i own and it's a good all-rounder

I've been using an Olympus Stylus Tough that I've been very happy with. I've used it in pools and in the ocean, and it has still photo and video. Here's an example of an underwater photo I took with it, but it does a nice job out of the water as well.

I would only recommend this model for underwater, active sports stuff. If you want an all around then seek out a model with a water proof casing. The challenge is the casing often cost more than the cameras.

I use the Olympus Tough too for underwater shots. Used it in pools and the ocean and it works great. I bought my TG 820 for about £300. I can upload photos taken from it tomorrow if you would like to see but I see there are examples above.

I have used a Sony W170 in a housing for some great shots when not in the housing it goes along on my mountain-bike..easy to use with auto U/W function .The W170 model has been replaced by the W590 now.
