Photo Book by Blurb

August 3rd, 2012
I recently finished my 365 project and decided to print a book of some of my photos. I had seen Blurb recommended in a discussion or ad and looked it up. I am not particularly tech savvy but had very little difficulty creating a wonderful book with their help. Within a week or two my books arrived but there was a problem with some of the pictures. It looked as if the printer was running out of ink! After contacting customer support I had received a response, solution and two new books within a week. They are all perfect and I HIGHLY recommend them to anyone wanting to record their 365 journey in a photo book!

Good stuff! Glad you had a good resolution.
I've been adding my pix to a Blurb book as I go along for printing at the end of the year. It's one of the things I use an incentive. I want to finish my book... :)

I've had equally satisfying results making photobooks at Shutterfly. :)

@sjoblues Good to know there are various options available!

@grammyn Did all your pictures come out crisp and clear? Ihad made a book though them a few years back and everything was soft and fuzzy looking, not crisp and nothig like my original photos looked.

I always use Cewe Photoworld for my books. I didn't like the Blurb set up or their choice of templates. Plus Cewe I have found to be cheaper without scrimping on quality!

@shirljess I thought they did,but I feel my photos aren't always as crisp as others on the project so maybe not. They looked every bit as good as anything I posted.

@cally I had never heard of them . It is worth looking into.

I have used Blurb for a few books now and have been very pleased with the result but I did notice on one book I didn't pick the highest quality paper and my photos were not as crisp as I had hoped for. @shirljess I wonder if that is what you experienced? I requested a reprint on their top quality paper and the photos were great.

@maggotx There are lots of good choices,Mag but I was impressed with the customer service and ease of use for the program. And I LOVE my book!

Deb
I've used iPhoto for a couple of books in the past and have been extremely satisfied with the quality. I've been wanting to try Blurb as they have lots more template choices, but was afraid that the quality might not be as good. Maybe I will give them a try. Thanks,Katy :)

I'll second and third the vote for Blurb - exceedingly user friendly and great quality (even compared to iPhoto). THey also often send out 25%-30% off coupons ... worth keeping an eye out!

I've used blurb, they are cool for the average user, very good print quality. And I've used Lulu, which I would say for someone with a bit more experience with layout and design, also very good. The books are certainly preferable to having a heap of pics printed to sit around the place.

@kmrtn6 That was my experience with them too!
@deburahiru I was very satisfied with them, Deb!
@beachradish Thanks for reinforcing my opinion. Your photos are top notch so it is nice to hear you are happy with their product too.
@chewyteeth Thanks, Dave. I considered myself and "average user" because I am a bit challenged in the technology department so was pleased with the simplicity of the program.

yep, tbh lulu confused me, I had to draft in someone to help me. But I think they had more options, cheaper options and super fast delivery, about 2 days was their normal economy option. I loved blurb, but I think lulu beats on quality and choice.

@chewyteeth Thanks! I might check into it for another time! ;~}
