Actions and Photoshop Elements 6.0

September 13th, 2012
does anyone on 365 process using actions and Elements 6.0?? I have been very interested in trying to learn how to download actions and figure out all that fun stuff but have not come across anything that is easy enough for me to follow along to, haha. OBVIOUSLY I am not very great with computers :P I have tried a couple times now but am not getting anywhere. Any help would be greatly appreciated :) Thank you!!!

www.pioneerwoman.com has a lot of actions. I believe she has directions on how to make them work also. You might be having issues because PSE 6 is farily old....they are currently on PSE 10 so 6 may not support actions. I am not 100% on this, just a guess. I don't know what your budget looks like but PSE 10 can be found fairly inexpensively.

The link above has some links within it that should be helpful.

The flickr link may be confusing if you don't know computers very well but I think it is extremely helpful.

@shadesofgrey yah i know Elements is old :S I used to have ADOBE 7 until my computer crashed and i lost everything and now cant seem to find the software for it. So my friend lent me her Elements 6 which was better then nothing. I dont have much for cash, haha, but would love to update to a new software in the near future hopefully!! i know Elements 6 can support actions as i have read alot about it, but i am just having problems following it all.... it gets very confusing because you have to do a bunch of extra steps just to get actions in there and working. BLA. I get confused and frustrated easily with myself :P LOL. I will for surely look into your links you have sent me tho!! :) Thank you so much for taking the time to reply to me, i really do appreciate it!!! Time to start saving pennies so i can do an upgrade!!!!! lol.

@shadesofgrey just thought i would ask your adive, if you know, do you know the difference btw ADOBE PHOTOSHOP LIGHTROOM 4 and ADOBE ELEMENTS 10 ?? Is one better then the other or anything?? Thank you!!

They do two different things, essentially. LR is a workflow/editing program. PSE is solely an editing program. I have used all 3 and I prefer LR for most everything. PSE is decent, I have nothing against it, especially if you ever want to upgrade to PS, the learning curve won't be as steep. However LR seems to be more user friendly and intuitive. LR cannot do layers natively, however there is a free plugin that supports it. I would personally recommend starting out with LR instead of PSE but that is my view only. It's like Nikon vs Pentax vs Canon. One is not ultimately superior to another, however they have their strengths and weaknesses, their places so to speak.

@shadesofgrey I into editing quite a bit, with cloning, textures and even learning more and more with layering etc. What i have read so far is that lightroom isnt good for that sort of editing but more for basic stuff and organizing??? People find it easy to use, but for what i want to do i am thinking it isnt what i am looking for. I will go ahead and read your link now :) Thank you!!!

I just switched to a Mac and had to reinstall lots of programs. I love lightroom and purchased LR 4 and ended up installing elements 6 because a friend offered it too me. I have gotten the actions from coffee shop to works. I am pretty sure she has tutorials on how to install them that are easy to follow.
