Space Shuttle Endeavour's SF Flyover

posted September 21st, 2012
Cameras clicked as thousands of Bay Area folks watched the space shuttle Endeavour today. The huge spacecraft, flying piggyback on a Boeing 747, appeared first over the East Bay hills then slowly flew north before making a big turn to fly above the Golden Gate Bridge! Thousands of people gathered all around the bay area shoreline to view and snap shots of the historic space craft (Tail Number OV105 for Orbiting Vehicle 105).

Did anyone else get pictures of the Endeavour's last flight coming from Texas to S. California?

@mikegifford Awesome shot Mike! I'm on the east coast, so this is the best view I'll get of it!

@vskolnik Great shot! I was across the bay and there was still some fog on the ocean side - you had some clear sky! There were thousands of people on the waterfront around the entire bay watching. Needless to say, it was really a great sighting!

@mikegifford Thanks! It was nice to have a clear day for this event! There were thousands of spectators where I was and I spent a lot of stressful time and energy jockeying for position....it was so worth it!
