It's actually a 30 minute video on NatGEO about Steve McCurry and the last role of Kodachrome. But he says sooooo much about street photography that it's a perfect 30 minute lesson.
wow. So I watched it, and I loved the time and the pause, and the results. So I never shot with Kodachrome, and suddenly it felt like a moment in history, like something I could regret, so I bought one roll on ebay. Expired 1987, so who knows, but I generally like old film. And now I can take my time and experience what he experienced. I usually take my digital around with me anyway in the same way he did, and I frame up shots with my digital too. Only thing I'm not as good at is the whole portraits of people in the street. But I'll load it in my Contax 137 and I'll try and make it special. Thanks for the video.
I've got a list in mind which I'm ticking off as I go, and Nikon F3 is long way down that list, I'm in no rush, I wanna enjoy the cameras I've got. Minolta XD11 is really my next big purchase, I bought one in December and I'm currently going through the ebay claim to get my money back, when I do I'm a buy another. Beautiful camera. I've heard a lot of people say the F6 is the best film camera ever. Like the Canon 1V though they might be good but I hate the ugly 1990s cams. Same with the Minolta Maxum 7. Ugly but super ace. I'll stick to the heavy metal of the 1970s and 80s. F3 goes for about £150 with a lens or two. thats a good price though. Beautiful camera and the lenses are pretty unbeatable.
I'm actually super excited now, I'm gonna do it Steve McCurry style. I live in Bolton for goodness sake its India's second city.
@chewyteeth I dunno, I got nice looking 60's camera, fun and all but just want something a bit more modern and quality. And auto-focus, I tire of manual focus.
So I finally watched the video, and loved it! @emsabh thanks for sharing it, but I ask you, did he seriously take a photo of his feet in a hotel room?? I really did LOL!
