Just when I thought my barns were played out (due to the decreasing number of faves:comment ratio), I wake up to a wonderful surprise. I almost didn't upload the Amber Glow shot to 365 at all, and then this morning wake to find 13 faves on it. Thank you!!!!!
Thank You for your wonderful photos. I look forward to seeing yours. By your example, you encourage me to keep working on processing. Your photos are great and then you add that special look with your processing.
It's gorgeous!! I haven't got to you the past couple of days... so just hold ya undies on :P Ps... I hear ya though... my whole fav/comment thing has swung... guess that is what you get for trying new things huh lol.
@ozziehoffy I totally get that...my commenting is in spurts... I wish I could keep up daily, but if I did, I wouldn't be posting anything (and probably not taking pictures either)... its really hard to strike a balance.
@jsw0109 I love your barns. Always have... so keep them coming! People who live in the city primarily do city shots, those who live at the shore or on a lake do a lot of water photos, so if you live in the country you shoot barns and farm animals... I never tire of any of them. I love seeing the world through someone else's eyes! Besides, there are lots of new people you can WOW with your barns!
@michaelelliott omg, I just went and looked and its up to 24! Now I'm wondering what was wrong with me that I considered not uploading it. I think my year 2 challenge is going to be to stop being overly self critical and to stop second guessing myself. I need to make a rule for myself: If I really like it, it is 365 worthy. It was my resolution to begin with.... to do what was right for me, but I have this uncanny knack for trying to please others.
@jsw0109 Sometimes it's hard to judge your own work and sometimes not. Sometimes when you think something is fab it gets a mediocre reaction maybe because you are too close to it or sentimental about it? Other times you just throw something up there and it gets a wow response. As they say, beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
@kilbane I get a notification in my email because I have it set up that way in settings. I don't know if you have to be an ace member to do that or not.
@phillyphotos especially when the 2nd year seems to change so much. I've talked to people that tried to stick around for year 2 and eventually left because they felt the support and encouragement dropped after they completed the first year. The way this year has started, I can see how they'd think that, but I think what happens is a lot of people move on to the newbies - either to encourage and support them as they start out, or to gain new followers for themselves, which is time consuming either way. I get that, so it doesn't bother me at all. But that is also why, when an image finally gets such a great response it feels the same as it did in year 1 when an image finally connected with people (I still remember my first... it was Wet Wood). The joy doesn't lessen just because you've completed a year :)
Wet Wood. I think that title just made my day! I'll be giggling about that the rest if the afternoon. Seriously, though, was that a wet bridge shot? I think I remember it.
This year certainly is different. I can't put my finger on it.
@jsw0109 - I know whaty you mean. I've gotten so picky now that I'm thinking of not posting shots and then I do and they get 50, 60 favs! But yeah year two I've been trying to really fine tune things more.
@yonnie yep.. it almost was a "personal collection" shot.
@jsw0109
How do you know if someone has marked your pic as a fav ?
This year certainly is different. I can't put my finger on it.
