Uploading Specs...Help.

February 14th, 2013
I've noticed since I started uploading with my new camera that the information that uploads with it is never correct. I've checked my date and time settings in my camera and they're correct.

For instance the photo I just uploaded I took early this morning, but it's saying it was taken yesterday. -- and the time is NEVER correct even if the date is right.

Ah, but what is today? what is yesterday? and what is tomorrow?

I am in the UK, there are members from the USA, Australia, New Zealand, etc.

Don't forget that what is "early this morning" for you will not be for others - so if you are uploading from a time zone different to this sites standard, then it will show up wrong.

First thing to do is go to the 'settings' tab (under 'You' above) and make sure you have the time zone set for where you live.

That might sort it out (also check your PC/laptop is set right)

This is a British website - it is 16.40 p.m here, but only 10.40 a.m where you are - that could make a big difference if you've not altered your settings)

Yes I understand that, but I never had a problem with the settings until my new camera.

Thanks for the advice.

If it's only started with your new camera then it may be something else. What software do you edit your photo's in. Does that have some form of Date stamp. Did you change your software at the same time as your camera? As the other contributors have pointed out you are 6 hours behind the UK but that doesn't explain your statement of "For instance the photo I just uploaded I took early this morning, but it's saying it was taken yesterday" Even if you took a photo at 1am it would show up as 7am on the site if your settings are wrong. Let us know what you find.

I had no problem with date/time then all of a sudden it went crazy and was way off and like you I checked my camera settings but they were correct. I have given up worrying about it now. Some days it's right, some days it's wrong. I did notice that the change did happen with my new camera too. My iPhone seems to be just fine. I really dont care what day you take your photos. I just care that you up load them for me to enjoy :) Mind you when you want to do a similar shot or learn something from a photo that has been posted it is nice to have the exif data.

The Exif and Meta Data here on 365 is really messed up, and no one can really explain when or why. My problem is adding a copyright and a contact tag, and the Camera Manufacturer and Model goes all kafooey! Some other people's Exif information is only partial, and they say they have done nothing to edit it out. Maybe Russ can explain. @scrivna

Mine was off with my new camera until I realized I had the wrong AM PM settings.

Hey, in your account settings set your time zone. Then your exit time should display in your local time.
