For those who committed themselves beyond Year One and Year Two of their project and those who started on the 1st of January 20-afewyearsbackand11, then you should be up and around the 800 photo mark.
Let's see your effort and give a brief summary as to why you continue...
I'll start. Here's my 800th shot and I continue my 365 Project because of 'Community'. (You can read into that what you will especially those faithful whom read my stories and glance at my photography each day)
Oh my. I am surprised to be the first to reply. I love the fact that you said "community." I lived in a place that is at the end of the world in the States. Gorgeous place. High tourist industry. (Mostly the only industry). 10 years being there I found 365 and it immediately helped my deep depression lift. I felt as though I had developed a new community of friends and support while doing something I felt productive. Artistically, I should have been happy there, but I missed community. Finally, I moved back to where I lived my whole life, where my friends and family reside, and I feel so completely SAVED and REVIVED. But 365 was the important comforter and motivator for the decision to do this. You get to create, learn, receive support and support all at the same time and I believe this the perfect combination for an absolutely rewarding experience/relationship.
on 864 today - I guess I stick around for community too...although I'm becoming busier as time goes on and don't spend as much time on here as I used to....howevert I take a shot most days - find it great to keep those creative juices flowing daily...and it gets me out of the office and puts my work life balance firmly back in life!
I believe I started the very same day you did. I have three albums and 950something photos so I’m unsure exactly which one is my 800th. In the spirit of the discussion, I’ll just post my photo from today’s walk in the woods. I came here o make a diary of a year in my life and learn to use a DSLR, I stay because of the community. I have made friends around the world that I will never be fortunate enough to meet in real life and have a couple of good friends locally that I met through this project. (And I dont’ comment as much as I used to, Jason, but I’ve enjoyed your project all along the way!)
@rockinrobyn - why thank you Robyn, I was a little concerned that you may have finished at the end of your first year, so it was equally pleasant that you're still here waiting for Spring.
@lisabell - Thanks Lisabell, that is an interesting shot, so I shall click on the image to go looksee more.
@georgews - I remember being in the 200s and that didn't feel so long ago really....
@sudweeks - I've been impressed, inspired and a follower of your project for quite some time now. Thank you for sharing your 800th image. Let's hope you continue to inspire?
@dandolo - I'm sure you'll step up to the challenge!
A filler, taken yesterday. The one I posted for yesterday, #799 is on the Popular page, the first time I've been on the Popular page in over 6 weeks.
This one sums up my day as it tells where we were, what we did for most of the day.
Why do I continue? I did two straight years of a perfect 365, never missing a day, never not getting out my camera and taking a shot. This third year, I wanted to be more gradual. I wanted to put out my best work, not just something that happened that day which might not have been my best effort.
So, I have posted many fillers this year. Too many times in the last couple of years, I'd go somewhere and get three, five, perhaps even ten shots that I really liked, only to dump most of them, because I didn't want to post any fillers. I'm not doing that this year. There have been several times this year where I haven't picked up my camera for three or four days. I feel more relaxed and am enjoying the process. If I have extras, I post to my Flicker account. I'm participating in several weekly challenges over there and I'm in the Sharpshooters International Photography Club on Facebook, so that's a weekly challenge too, although not really a challenge, more of a post your best shot.
I enjoy it. I may walk away sometime in the future, but not anytime soon that I can see.
@bobfoto Almost...I posted my 700th shot this week! Why do I carry on doing it? I can't imagine not doing it.. it's the friendliest most creative most flexible 'hobby' I've ever had and the nicest 'club' I've ever belonged to. :) Besides if I stopped I might not get to drink as much tea and read your amazing tales Jason!!
Here's my 800th taken in December. I can't imagine not being part of this community so onward I go. I may not be the best photographer and I may not be into editing but I really enjoy taking photos of my life.
Keep it up.
@pocketmouse - when you see them underwater, they are really scary and they move so fast!
@traceywhickerphotography - Thanks Tracey, thank you.
@archaeofrog - you'll have to come back and find this thread when you do eh?
@ptowncook - Alaska?
@geocacheking - looking forward to next year then. ;)
@mealeigh - hee hee.
@byrdlip - Sharing is caring.

Great thread.
today will be 870th. I don't stay for the community, anti social sod I am, but couldn't finish on an even number (yes I have number issues) :)
@kjarn - Thanks Kathy A, sweet Rhody!
@houdiniem - I hope that number issue extends to odd numbers too (two).
