Can we search for multiple tags?

March 12th, 2013
I've searched the forums, and I believe I'm correct in my conclusion, but I thought I'd just double check:

When searching for photos by tag (http://365project.org/tags/), there's no way to search on two (or more) terms, right? I don't mean a two-word tag; I mean I'd like to find all pictures tagged with both "macro" and "shrimp", for instance, like here on Flickr.

HI!!!

Yes, you can search for multiple tags.

Type the words (with spacing) in the search bar. (Top right hand corner) This will automatically take you to a page with all discussions matching your tags.

On the left hand side is a bar and you can choose whether you are searching for photos, users, discussions, or blog.

Choose photos!!! I just tried this with a tag like "blue flowers", and it worked perfectly!

However "macro shrimps" has no photos! :)

Hope I explained this okay!!!

Therese, thanks, but that's just what I mean... the five photos that came up in that search were tagged with the two-word tag "blue flowers". I haven't yet found a way to find al of the photos with the tag "blue" AND the tag "flowers". @monkeykid

Oh, sorry! I see what you mean. I would just search the two tags separately!!! I don't know of any other way! :) @squamloon

It's not perfect, but can get to some of the pics by using queries like this in Google Search:

site:365project.org/ macro shrimp

(I have tried searching for actual tags, but can't get it to filter properly. Note sure if that means that the query is incorrect, or if 365 just doesn't have any pics with both ~shrimp~ and ~macro~ tags assigned:

site:365project.org/tags/ bumblebee macro
)

This Google Search retrieves some more:

site:365project.org/ shrimp closeup

Interesting. I agree that that's a way to glean some different information than we can from the site's own search window, but I think it's searching all of the titles and descriptions rather than just tags (and perhaps not the tags at all).

I have a photo containing the tags chewbacca and banana. Unfindable on google. But its title, Banana Figurehead, is. @bonniebouman

I think I see what you mean. Those Google queries sift through either
1) tags themselves
"site:365project.org/tags/Chewbacca"
does have your picture first on the page
*or*
2) titles & descriptions, but not counting the tags as keywords. Hmm.
"site:365project.org/ Chewbacca"
does not return your pic in the Google Results; it says 'Chewbacca' only in the tags, not in title or description.
I wonder why that is!

@scrivna (this is the first time I've invoked your name, hi, I'm forever in your gratitude for this place): would adding this capability be a doable thing?
