When do man become a photographer?wen he/she holds a pro cam? does it really need to have a lot of workshop?
Does it need a certificate to become a licensed photographer?
This question comes up quite often. I think it is more improtant to focus on the art, and the person's ability to creat their own style. Some say it's when people begin to sell their work, when they are asked to do a photo shoot, when you make a living from it. I think most photographers are professional in that they are continually out there looking for opportunities to capture the world in that spectacular image. Images that define who they are, what enjoy in life, learning what is appealing to others, and then developing their creativity.
i answered a question earlier about when do you become an artist and i still have allot more to learn. Yep, i am forever growing as an artist/photographer. But i think if you love photography and you pursue that passion you are a photographer... whether you have a professional camera or are very good at all. I agree with Rick when he says "I think most photographers are professional in that they are continually out there looking for opportunities to capture the world in that spectacular image." Its more of the passion to express yourself through your art rather than the money you make off of it or not. i just recently updated my camera to a nice professional style one... but I considered myself a photographer before when I was using my 5 megapixel camera i had for years.
