@sxyrhoose Hi Eydie! I have the Canon t2i and I fell in love with macro pretty quickly... I would suggest the canon 100mm f2.8 lens, it works amazingly.
It is a bit to get used to as I find the autofocus isn't the greatest so I use manual focus (which is so much easier anyway and I believe *most* people use manual focus on macro?). I get pretty sharp images and I really like the f2.8, it makes it a fast lens and great in low light.

I also have a 7D and I use a canon 100mm macro which I do love, I have an 15- 85mm as well and get some super shots a s well. Excuse the ignorance. I see there are two different ones. the 2.8L which is over a grand and the 2.8 which is 600.
