How can I view photos taken by Mirrorless cameras

June 22nd, 2013
Sold my canon equipment because my wrist could no longer take the stress. I have been using a canon powershot, but now I want more. I am thinking about a mirrorless camera but not sure which and wondering if there are some people out there I can follow that use one. Thanks for your time.

I have a new Olympus E-PL5 which has been fantastic so far; I've tagged all of my photos with "EPL5" and am just starting a series today titled "Learning My PEN" that will highlight the in-camera features of this little beast!

Here are my photos so far: http://365project.org/tags/epl5

Flickr's camera finder can be very useful as well for showing you photos taken by a specific camera. For example, here are shots taken with the Sony NEX-5N:

You can also use the search box at the bottom to search for particular types of photos, if you have a genre you are particularly interested in. For example, here are macro shots taken with the NEX-5N:

Most of the digital photos taken in my albums are with an Olympus PEN, as are those by @fueast. Saves a lot of weight, which then means you can carry more cameras lol

I see you a lot responding to others. That's a great thing. Thanks for the info. :-)

Just to throw another name into the ring - I shoot with a samsung NX 200 and absolutely love it.

Don't expect my shots to be as good as these powerhouses @peterdegraaff @grizzlysghost - but that is to do with the photographer and not the equipment!

My earlier shots were taken with a Panasonic GF1, but since dropping that one and breaking it I have upgraded to a GX1. I love them both.

@photohoot Wendy, I was using the Samsung NX200 like @gwhit123 loved the camera and it is very lightweight. It is a mirrorless SLR and smart camera. I have now evolved to the NX20 more hands on SLR but still has the smart feature if required. The mega-pics is 20.3 and the value is most reasonable. The quality is excellent. It is a personal choice. I really wanted a SLR that was not too heavy for traveling and hiking. I am extremely happy with the camera and the pictures it takes. I am not a professional but strive to master my passion of photography. I hope this has been helpful.

@cathrinemitch ooh I've been looking for someone who shoots with a samsung for a while. What lenses do you have, and which do you use most? I thought the NX20 was still a mirrorless camera just shaped more like an SLR?

@cathrinemitch

Thanks for responding. I have you followed.

@gwhit123 Yes, George it is a mirrorless camera as well. Samsung has perfected this technology. I find my photos are the same with the NX200 as with the NX20. The only thing is I can do more with my photos and it has wireless capabilities and it has other features. I was very happy with the NX200. I have the kit lens and the 50-200mm, looking to get trade in and get the 18-200mm, don't want to keep changing my lens when I am out.

All my photos taken so far have been with the Olympus pen. I love it. I'm sure Aaron only got one because me and Peter had one! He he

i alternate between my canon t2i and sony nex7... i think the quality on the sony is excellent - the bigger issue for me is learning all the ins and outs of it... incidentally, i chose the sony over the olympus pen purely on how i felt holding it - not on the specs...

I rented a Lumix G5 from Panasonic last weekend, and all the shots that weekend and into Monday and Tuesday in all three albums were with that camera. It's a Micro Four Thirds camera, mirrorless and a wealth of features. The camera is a delight to shoot with, the user interface is perfect and there are a wealth of great lens choices from Panasonic and other Micro Four Thirds vendors. A Panasonic f/2.8 35-100 (70-200 full frame equivalent) top of the line weighs less than 16 ounces! The kit lens (12-42, ffe 18-84) is so-so, as are all kit lenses generally. At a promotion price of $399 ($300 off list) in the USA the kit is a steal. A great video camera as well; the camera is probably best known and well reviewed for its video, but its still performance I found top notch as well. A G6 has been announced but not yet available in the USA. The top of the line GH3 is incredible as well, but I have only shot for an hour with it in and around the camera store.

I use a Sony NEX-5N. The camera works pretty well (just not the operator). It has most of the functions of a full size DSLR, it's just a question of finding them in the menu system. And the number of lenses available has increased significantly. You can program some functions to be available without going into menus. The optional electronic viewfinder is essential in bright light, so the later models with a built-in view finder (and wi-fi) are probably better.

@photohoot I just spent 2 full days shooting with the Nex 7...i am blown away and i might be falling in love! I will tag them Nex7 when i upload them!

@grizzlysghost Dang it Aaron...I swear you did it again! LOL! today was the day I said i was making a decision! Although after the weekend I think i am very happy with my choice.

@photohoot these are the ones i have taken over the weekend. think i am keeping it I very happy with the quality, even if i am less happy with the learning curve. that is me and not sony...
