....ooops, forgot to say - my dream-lens!
Gosh I had no idea there was such a multitude of lenses out there... I'm thinking of getting a macro lens for my birthday to fit my 55mm Sony A330. I don't have a fortune to spend so can anyone point me in the right direction? I dream of capturing amazing close-up detail ....
I dream of a 24-70 for APS-C (no full frame cover), f/4.0, picture and build quality like the existing 16-50mm, SSM, from Sony with supportrd camera built in corrections for JPEGs like with other Sony glasses, and small and light as possible (thats why f/4.0). The price should be under 400 €. I think this lens would be my favourite daily used lens, speciwlly for street.
Wishes like the one from thread opening are not possible. Not even if it should cover APS-C only. It would be tooo big and heavy. And with that range the quality of picture would be very very bad. I would never buy such a lens.
I wasn't sure about if you mean it serious. You know, in the web there are many people out with such wishes. Not knowing that it isn't possible. Anyway, if it is a joke, you can just ignore my post. :-)
I'm not sure that I have a dream lens that exists in real life... There are some lenses that I would like to play with (like a mega tele or something) but I think if I won the lottery, after buying a full frame and a few decent lenses to get me started, I'd be wanting to spend the money on travel so I could use it :)
@northy In the real-ish world now that would be cool wouldn't it...win the Lotto, buy a full frame, couple or so of excellent L lenses then travel taking awesome shots along the way :)
@northy no - it does not exist - yet. although a while ago i read a research paper that was talking about latest research technology in optics and this was stunning. but will not be in the market within the next decade, if at all.
...and now i have to leave - need to play lottery :-)
For me it's got to be the SLR Magic Hyper Prime 50mm f/0.95. I can't imagine there would be hardly any depth of field to speak of at 0.95 but that's what I would throw my money at if I could. All those creamy pictures....yum.
;)

I can't imagine Nikon doing it soon but it is the kind of innovation Sigma seem much more willing to try.
