Macro lens question

December 9th, 2013
I have my first camera and it is a Lumix Panasonic DMC FZ30. Is there a good lens that is not to expensive that will allow me to take better macro photos? I know it has a macro setting on it, and I know I need a tripod but I want them to get even clearer. Is there a way or is it just me not being good enough yet to do this. Thanks for all the help I can get. Also do I need any other starter lenses to get me started?

Are you sure that camera uses other lenses? I'm pretty familiar with Lumix, and I don't think that particular model can use other lenses.

that camera doesn't have interchangeable lenses I don't think, but you could get a set of close up filters. I think that camera takes 55mm filters.

Many fixed lens cameras have a Macro Shooting Mode that optimizes for close up. My little Canon SX260 does and it works rather well on its x20 fixed zoom, I can't speak for the DMZ FZ30.
