Unfortunately, my computer has "died". It is in getting looked at but I might not have it back until Friday if not the following Monday. So that means no daily photos unless there is a free program that I could download onto our spare laptop. I have only ever used Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Raw/Bridge for my photos.
Is there a free program I could download onto my laptop that will enable me to upload photos? Unfortunately,my laptop isn't "big" enough to handle any Adobe products.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, thanks heaps :-)
My husband just downloaded "Microsoft Camera Codec Pack" it opens raw files and I can save them as a jpg but does nothing else. Not even cropping. But at least I should be able to put up some photos :-) Thanks for the suggestions. :-)
Gimp is an open source photo editor that is awesome. It does not have raw in its supported file types, but does every other format. I think ufraw might let you save as tiffs , jpeg etc.
If your laptop isn't big enough to handle adobe I wonder if it's big enough to handle raw files at all? They are huge files... Maybe shoot JPEG and raw and just post the jpegs until your computer is fixed?
@inara I have heard that lightroom is quite good but it's not free. I really only want something to use until my computer gets fixed (hopefully it will). That's the only reason I am looking for something free. Thanks Kim :-)
I have downloaded RawTherapee and will see if I can use that. Thanks so much for all your help. At least I will be able to put my daily photos up if all goes well :-)
