where did my camera info go?

July 11th, 2015
all of a sudden i am not seeing info about the camera i used in the images i'm uploading... this seems to have started with me (a) migrating to a new laptop while at the same time (b) upgrading to lightroom CC... add to that (c) when i downloaded photoshop CC on my new computer it seemed... different... just a bit, but still... main thing being that it's wanting to save everything in TIFF... but even for images that i didn't put thru PS, the camera info is missing... or weird...

any insight?

and while we're on the topic... any thoughts on whether it's better to save the PS work in TIFF vs. PSD?

tx!

Hi Northy @northy - well I don't really know too much about this .. but I recently got LR 6 and have found the same on my images.. no camera info. I read on a discussion here i think that some others have found the same when they've used LR... sorry no real explanation i'm afraid tho....

Me too, am wondering why too. Since recent update this year from LR.

Much older verse of LR, but this option may be worth a try. Bear in mind the metadata option may be in a different place on the new version. I'm not in front of my laptop, so I can't try before posting sorry.....

@brigette @kiwisnapper @overalvandaan oh riiiiight! i remember someone mentioning this when LR6 was first released... ok - just so i know it wasn't something i did wrong with the set up... tx!

I have no issues with Bridge with the new CC 2015, but then Bridge wasn't touched. My camera data showing here on 365 is still fine. The Library Module of Lightroom CC 2015 might have done something? I don't use it so I can't say. I'd ask Ross @scrivna first, and then ask Adobe.

TIFF (16 bit unflattened) or PSD, it doesn't matter much. PSD is somewhat more efficient if you have multiple layers. TIFF just might be a little more portable if you move outside the Adobe world.

I've also found that the camera info is scrambled - I use Lightroom CC. I actually find it amusing, so far my fave scramble has been, camera -yes
I thought this was hilarious but then I'm strange... Lol!

@aranelinya4268 bahaaaa! that's funny... i've got one that says: "Aging"... i keep wondering if this is a judgement on me or the camera ;p

Ever since Lightroom CC update the camera info is jumbled. When I export from Lightroom my camera is Corporation. If I go to PhotoShop straight from Lightroom then my camera shows as Nikon. My exif data is there though whichever way I go. I think it's a CC issue and nothing to do with 365.

I asked ross about this about two months ago and he said that he was looking into it. The data is there it has something to do with the way this site is pulling the exif data. No issues on Flickr or 500px

When I did 365 in 2012 I have all my camera details listed. Some were then a Canon 7D, some Leica D Lux 5 and some my iPhone 5. Three years on I am using different cameras; Canon 5D Mark III, Sony A6000, Leica D Lux 5 and an iPhone 6s and most importantly I am using Lightroom & Photoshop CC and guess what? No camera information!
