I always cringe when I see photographers photographing on tracks, and after reading this news article I just wanted to share a reminder on how dangerous it can be. Not to mention the legalities of trespassing....

What an awful thing to happen.................wouldn't it be fab if have tracks laid in a field............just for photographers to safely shoot on :)

Plain and simple, don't shoot on active tracks. Find an abandoned track, there are plenty of them.

Fortunately, I have rr tracks near me. They cut the tracks to put in roads. Old tracks run through the fields. Perfect for photographers. I do fear I will set a bad example.

@lynbonn that is convenient, wonder if there's a way to note that little detail somehow, maybe when posting or displaying them? so as to not set a bad example, but rather a good example of what could be done safely.

I have done just that. I do hope photographers will heed the warnings.
