When using multiple albums, is it possible to "quickly" reference past months?

November 20th, 2015
Unless someone might give me a hint as to what I'm missing, this question is directed to Ross @scrivna with a request ... Something to do "in your spare time, dontcha know"! As an Ace member I have multiple albums and very often reference back to photos to share with others, to email, to recall time lines. Presently it takes a number of steps to bring up each calendar, travel backward..."Nope, not there... next album...current photo...click for calendar, etc..." I suppose "anything's possible", but how difficult would it be to have a tiny drop-down calendar page to click on each time we go to reference our albums? Because I love to share "past times" and "old memories" with many friends who aren't even members of 365, I'm hopeful for a time-saving way to expedite a share...

If there's something already in place that I'm missing, I'd love to know it. If not, are there others who would like having this as much as I would? Thanks for any assistance, and for your time, Ross, to give this consideration...

I have started to develop a system for myself. It's not perfect but it's quicker than clicking back through each month. I created an album called Monthly Views. Then took screen prints of each of the months in both of my other albums. Then I posted the screen prints for one of the years of one of the albums plus labels (Mar, Feb, etc) onto one month in the album so I can see which month is which. If you click the itty bitty screen print it, of course takes you to the screen print which is your posting. There I've put a link to the actual monthly view. I know it sounds weird and way more trouble than what you describe, but in the absence of that it's better than nothing. Right now I think I'm the only one who can see them because I was trying not to flood the feed with all of those things. I intend to change them back to public -- viewable by everyone. I'll try to go and do that soon so you can see what I mean. So far I've done 2013 for both of my albums.

I just went and changed two months to public so you can go and see what I'm talking about. I suppose about the time I get all three years of both albums done, THAT's when we'll get the feature added you're talking about. http://365project.org/mcsiegle/profile Link to my profile where you'll find that album. It will take you to the last thing posted, but click view this month and you should see those two months. Don't know if that would help you, but I know how cumbersome it is now.

@Weezilou

I find mine by the tags that I put on them when I post them.

@mcsiegle Mary, that's a really clever and creative way to document what you've posted.

could you just go to one albulm, bring up the monthly view, then just change the month number in the URL? If not there, then change albulms, go to month view and modify month again? should be quicker this way?

@toast that's a really good idea, Weng. Particularly if you know exactly which album and which month you want to go back to. If you're searching for a photo and don't know when/where you posted it, you'd still need to do some rummaging with that strategy, and with my system too

I agree. Maybe a way to go back to May 2013, without having to scroll back that far. That would be awesome!

@toast
I do the same as Weng.. I find the right album and then change the month number (and year if I want to) in the URL

@mcsiegle @toast exactly my problem : sometimes I don't know which album, but had not thought of editing URL. I would like to be able to hop between albums much easier than now.
