Before I went to the link, I thought of a post I saw a year or two ago on some forgotten website. The pro photographer explained why she was unsatisfied with her image of an outdoor public work of art and its reflecting pool. In my eyes, it was an exceptionally well timed, composed, lit, executed and processed image. I'd seen others taken from the same POV, but this was THE BEST. But it had no meaning, no emotional impact. In her words, it was a cliche, a pretty picture. She wanted to be more capable than that and to do so more often. The commenters couldn't understand why she wasn't satisfied with the image.
I wasn't surprised by the images on flickr. They're exceptionally well done.
