OK, long shot, has anyone a house/apartment in London they would be willing to rent out for a few nights?
My father is going to be 90 at the end of the month and my sister is taking him and my mother to London and I am going to fly in from Sweden to surprise him.
As you can imagine it isn't easy finding a place to stay in london unless you are a super duper rich person type being. I am not...I am an art teacher! LOL
If you do have anything or know of anyone who has something then please let me know asap...I promise to bring a bag of Swedish goodies with me!
Thank you, and I know I have been rather cheeky asking but as my dear dad says, If you don't ask you will never know the answer!
To be honest, we stay in the premier Inn at King's Cross. It's reasonably priced, always spotlessly clean and serve a great brwakfast! If it's just a few nights might be OK unless you actually want a house specifically.
Hiya! Whereabouts in london are you wanting to be? My family rent out our top floor on Airbnb - its self contained with a double bed. But it's quite a lot of stairs and i don't know whether it would be suitable for his mobility? It's also possible it's already booked the dates you want to come (its booked the last weekend of Jan but free later, e.g. early February) so depends on their availability! Do you mind me asking what your budget is so I can ask them for you? I hope you find somewhere wonderful!
@izzyromilly my sister is paying. She says around 55-100 pounds a night and it would be for about 4 nights. Stairs are a bit of a problem, mobility not good. Looking for a place that is ok for 4 people.
@andrina I think my parents and my sister enjoy the freedom of their own place but I shall let them know about the premier inn, thank you
If my parents' place is booked then I'd really recommend Airbnb anyway! If you click 'entire home' it comes up with loads of apartments at different price ranges, if you're looking for a place where the 4 of you can stay together
@huvesaker Ah okay, i posted my last comment before I saw yours! Suits the price range but there wouldn't be space for 4 adults at ours im afraid - but you might find something on airbnb? Good luck and i hope you and your family have a really great weekend together!
Hi there given the age of your Dad, is there a chance he was a member of the armed forces at some point? My aunt has used the victory services club in London http://www.vsc.co.uk/ & says it is very good value. The have accessible rooms too.
If he is Swedish, the do have reciprocal arrangements with other clubs around the world.
I just thought of something - if they are going to be in London on 5th February some of the roads will be closed off as there is a 10k Winter Run on that day. I know as I am taking part in it and it says the roads will be closed off along the route.
