Trip to RI and Maryland...advice?

Shortly I'm leaving for a trip to Barrington, RI, and Salisbury, MD. Anyone who lives in those areas have photo suggestions? We are planning on Asateaque or Chincoteaque (sp?))

The wild horses on the Chincoteague are awesome. Salisbury is also close to Ocean City. It has an awesome boardwalk along the ocean. Lots of fun there. And you have to have some MD blue crabs. They are everywhere in the Salisbury area. There are lots of restaurants that offer all you can eat chicken or crabs. They have brown paper across the table and a roll of paper towels on top of that for you to use. They just dump your food right on the table. The blue crabs were always my favorite part about visiting my mom when she lived there many years ago. Also Salisbury is rather rural, so lots of farmland landscapes to photograph in MD's Eastern Shore.
I don't know much about Barrington, RI, except that it's not too terribly far from Newport, RI. There is a very cool Naval museum in Newport, as well as a bunch of amazing old mansions from around 1900. We went to the Marble House, which was built by one of the Vanderbilts as their summer cottage. There's a whole street of mansions like that. Oh, and a huge bridge that takes you way up into the air over the water - great view, but kinda scary. Have fun!

As I remember my great year in RI, (20 years ago, but still...) I enjoyed "CLIFF WALK" in Newport very much. I have some great photos and memories. Check it on the internet. It is great way to experience the Ocean and mansions. It might give you a lot of great photo opportunities. And I would always go back to Newport center...

Check out the campus of salve Regina university in Newport. You can't miss it as it's right near the mansions. Go into Ochre Court on the SRU campus...amazing building. Definitely cliff walk and take a drive down ocean drive for more modern mansions than the Breakers etc. that are on Bellevue ave. Newport is such a fun town! Have fun! Oh...the Barking Crab is a great restaurant!

Don't know what "soon" means, but the ponies swim from Assateague to Chincoteague every year, in July, to control their population. It is quite the event. http://news.nationalgeographic.com/2016/08/chincoteague-famous-pony-swim-horses/

@pickerandagrinner lives in RI, so he will have good ideas, if he weighs in.

Newport and the Cliff Walk are really great. Touring those classic "robber baron" mansions is really cool. I went to college is Providence, years ago, so my knowledge is old, but you can drive north and explore that city, if you don't want to drive south to Newport. Sounds like a fun trip!

I, too, was going to say the cliff walk if the weather is good. Also, if you can, take a trip to block island. Very worth the trip. If there is one, go to a concert at u.r.i. and also go see the design school in Providence -jewlry and other amazing stuff there.Rhode island school of design.

If you'll be taking I95, Mystic CT is along the route. A cute picturesque town with a seaport and a village. Might be a nice place to stop and grab something to eat and take a few pictures.

Newport is great also.
