I recently watched a part of the documentary series on design "Abstract" that is currently available on Netflix (in the US at least). Part 7 of the series is a brilliant inside look into the work process and the studio of Platon (Antoniou) that gives you an look on the way he approaches his portraits, connects with the subject, and also at the things that motivate his work. The main "line" of the episode is Platon taking a portrait of Colin Powell, but the story line also goes to Platon's background, his other projects, his design and thinking process etc.
I utterly enjoyed it and found it very inspirational. Here is the link to the series:
I've seen this too and highly recommend it - it is fascinating to see Platon's working methods, especially how he talks to Colin Powell and uses a similar approach with his different sitters.
Not sure if anyone has seen it, but Platon also features in episode one of Mark Seliger's series Capture, where a professional photographer and a celebrity with a passion for photography discuss their work. The series is available on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL2F2FCF0E84C97696
