Hi, I'm Kirsty and love photography. I'm a total novice and just got my first DSLR in nov 2009. I'm a little nervous that my images aren't that great but thought the 365 project would help thanks to flamez inviting me. Now I have a reason to pick up the camera and get practice in. I would love any input on my photos whether good or bad so I can improve. I've seen loads of beautiful images on here and I'm starting to get more inspiration which I really tend to lag.
My pictures are not great either! This project is great for getting feedback on photos. Just pick some people to follow and they will follow you back giving to feedback on your photos.
@kirsty1975 I'm taking pictures on a 3 year old point and shoot, for me this is purely about playing with ideas and documenting my year! If you get into the mindset that you're doing this for you....there is nothing to be nervous about :)
@kirsty1975 The important thing is just to enjoy yourself, don't worry about whether people will like your photos, just post what you like. Its only through practice that you will get better.
I just started too, and all I have is a point and shoot, but I thought it would be some good experience. Joe, that is a good suggestion about following people.
I do love taking photos but it can be really gutting when you get it wrong. Thank goodness for photo editing but I don't like to edit too much if I can help it.
Don't be nervous. Take lots of pictures, pick one and go for it. You will learn quickly what works and doesn't. And what's great is that digital photos are cheap and don't cost anything to delete. I have a habit of snapping tons of pictures.
Heya Kirsty, good to see you joined up! And hey I've seen enough of your photos to know you have nothing to worry about, you take some wonderful shots and I've always enjoyed seeing your new photos.
Don't be nervous, photography doesn't have a formula, there's no right or wrong way of doing things. Practice, see what works for you, and as you said, inspiration from other photographers can't take you far.
Don't worry about what others do and how you measure up in comparison. Be inspired by them but remember to be yourself and shoot the world as only you can see it!
Good luck!
