i just purchased an adapter one from amazon and it arrived last night..my picture from yesterday was just me trying it out
it was this one

here are some other trial and error type shots
the adapter makes the lens a little long, so it casts a shadow, so i'll either need a better flash, or learn my settings better

You wouldn't want the canon 15mm fisheye for a cropped sensor camera like the rebel. You'd be better off picking up a Sigma 10mm DC fisheye if you true 180 degree rectangular fisheye, or a Sigma 4.5mm DC fisheye if you want a 180 degree circular fisheye. Both are pricey, and it's a lens that you probably won't use very often.

oh i want to save for this might take me a while - any one got any idea of the release date and price? http://www.canon.com.au/en-AU/For-You/Camera-Lenses/Lenses/EF8-15mm-f4L-USM-FishEye

(sorry a little off topic!)

@ Josh- What do you think of this? http://www.adorama.com/LNB01658.html

@sam_cr - Not sure of the release date, but that lens is meant for full frame. At 8mm it's a circular fisheye, and at 15mm it's a rectangular fisheye (meaning it fills the frame, but is still 180 degrees from corner to corner). I'd guess the price is just over $1k

@lovemysailor02 - That may be enough to scratch your fisheye itch, but there's a huge quality difference between those fisheye adapters and a true fisheye lens. Most likely that lens will give you around a 100 - 120 degree wide angle with significant barrel distortion, and the corners won't be very sharp. A true fisheye lens will be 180 degrees from corner to corner and relatively sharp in the corners, very sharp towards the center.

This is an example of a fisheye adapter - http://www.flickr.com/photos/lowercased/2161338168/

and this is an example of a Sigma 4.5mm fisheye - http://www.flickr.com/photos/whateverland/2238330472/

@ Josh Sudweeks! Thanks after looking at those two the adapter would work for me for right now. As thats all I have the money for. I will be saving up for more lenses but for now that is just what I want. Something to give me a little more option in pictures.
