Need inspiration

The day is ending and I have zero inspiration. What do you do when you get photographer's block?

here's an article I found about it:

but I want to hear from you guys!

When I have no inspiration, I go trigger happy and hope to get lucky. Either that, or I take an abstract. Which is probably not the best way to do it.

I enjoy the challenge of taking something boring around the house and turning into a nice photo. Just grab something and try shooting with different lighting, and at different angles.

If I think I'm not going to get a good shot I like to fall back into default mode. Recently that's meant grabbing a shot of the sky out of the attic skylight, other times it's been a shot of the kids or even one of a plastic penguin. Just knowing I've got those to fall back on takes a bit of stress out of it! Alternatively you could try a theme shot although some or more easily done than others...

On days I'm uninspired, I take a photography skill that I want to practice or take a jab at the theme of the week. When all else fails, I also just start shooting anything and everything and something comes up.

I just go around taking pictures here and there... go outdoors find a tree take picture of the bark, of the branches, of the sun throught the tree. grab a vase try cover the flash with a finger on it to get red glowon it... play around with diffeerent things and maybe you'll get a photo you like...

I like to go out to the park or mall & take random shots. Malls have cool things hanging up every where & cool patterns at random places to turn anything into a photo.

i usually walk around my house and try to find something average and attempt to make it artful. failing that, i resort to a filler. . .

look through the viewfinder while walking inside or outside (if outside, be careful where you walk)

My 2 year old has been providing me with material when I feel blocked lol From photographing her personal gallery (aka her chalk scribbles on my walls) to her or her stuff. I think I'll move on to my cat if my daughter ever bores me LOL

I find a favorite object and start shooting from different perspectives, different lighting, different camera settings... and if that doesn't work I check out the site referred to above or browse thru the galleries here... the people here inspire me the most!

I try to look at something I've gone passed a million times in a different way. Look Closer, look farther, etc

I usually lay down and look up. Inside, outside, it doesn't matter...just change your perspective :)

I discovered the inspiration of music today. I was listening to a song on my ipod and was able to translate the title of the song into a picture.

I go somewhere outside, and observe. Since I'm focused on finding a subject I start seeing things differently than I normally do when I'm out and about.

i tend to find inspiration in art, emotions, and everyday objects. i try to see them outside their normal box. if i am really desperate i will go and look at the sky and clouds. but sometimes, crazy kid stuff gives me a wild epiphany too.

I usually find my two favorite subjects and shoot them... my husband and son. :)

I have a very very long list of things that I can do for my project, if there is nothing particularly special for that day. I suppose it's a bit different, mine being a themed shoot and all that.. but I usually take photos spontaneously, whenever I see the opportunity.. but I'm so determined not to miss a single day that I have a list of possibilities, just in case :P
