The best way to get followers is to get involved in the community. I've found the more you contribute to the discussions or comment on others' work, the more followers you'll get. I've only been here for like a week and a half, so I'm sure someone else can give you some more sage advice. I'll follow you though.
I normally accept bribes in order to follow people. I like new music, sci-fi books, and runts. However, in your case, I'll waive the customary bribe. But I reserve the right to reinstate it at any point ;)
Big welcome :) I've added you to follow but agree the best way is to get involved with the community. I'm fairly new here myself but have found them to be both helpful, friendly and an all round great group of people
i will follow u too :) ....... im new at this too started the st jan :) i found the more u post on discussions and the more you comment on things that catch your eye the more in turn people tend to look through your work :)

But also, if people follow you you shouldn't feel the need to follow the back automatically, just out of courtesy. Have a look at their photos first and see if you like them. If you don't, then don't follow them!

Pretty much what everyone else has said really. I only started in Jan too and am completely loving it. When you're having an uninspired day, there's nothing better than an encouraging comment to prompt you to pic up your camera!
I keep an eye on the New Faces section...if I spot someone who's work I like, I'll follow them (and since they're generally new too, tend to be happy to follow you back). Have fun with your project!!
