Help! Camera Issue

January 26th, 2011
All of a sudden, when I look through my viewfinder, it's all blurred. I thought it was my eyes, but had someone else check-yep blur.
If I use my LCD screen, it's fine. Pictures that look blurry through the viewfinder come out fine.

It hasn't gotten wet. We've had some fairly cold days, but I didn't even have time to get it out when we had ice last week.

Any suggestions?

I plan on calling Canon when I get a chance, which will be a couple of weeks because of work travel. It's only 4 months old.

next to your view finder is a little "swivel" that has a + and a - sign on it try turning it to get it back into focus.. on my Canon its on the top right hand side near the eye piece

Winth Nikon, I have a little switch that moves the viewfinder in and out. Not sure if Canon has that though.

Well, I hope this isn't it, but if so...I am sorry to say that I had a similar Canon Powershot with the video viewfinder. On the day I had to take a very important image, this same thing happened to me. I was told the sensor went bad (about 3 years old). The camera was junk at that point.

I hope your situation turns out better. If it is all blue and red blur. But if they download ok, you may be ok. Who knows. Technology. Yuck.

Its just your diopter setting. No worries, like Rose said just move the little wheel next to your viewfinder until its focused again. ( :

@silverhorn OK, that worked. I hadn't even noticed that little wheel.
Thank you!!!! I was so worried that I was going to have to send it back to Canon.

That happens to me at work whenever one of our "half blind" guys borrow one of my cameras. ;) They always change the diopter settings and forget to tell me.

@jjsooner sooo had the same happen to me a year ago on my camera. I panicked, then barked at the kids for dropping my camera bag, then thought the day finally came, I was blind or needed bifocals.. then I accidentally hit that little dial thing... humility was restored.. :D Glad it was an easy fix!

@jinximages I was really thinking it was my eyes! I feel sort of stupid now. Haha. Glad to see I'm not the only one. Really never did notice that setting.

@celticmystyc Too funny!
