Hi,
Do you all know somebody else who photograph? I have no one in my family, friends or work who photograph. Of course, they photographing while they are on vacation or at a party, but otherwise not.
however my great great (think thats the right amount of greats) grandad was a photographer , he was apparently the first man to go round on his bike photographing the norfolk (i think) countryside. Ive only found this out recently and am on the look out for more info !
Three of our family members are also on 365, but there are a few more who also like photography, so at family gatherings there's a lot of "photospeak"!
my mum and dad do a little bit and my brother in law does it as a profession,i also have a lot of online friends who i have "known" for years who do some of them are on here now aswell.
my husband doesn't get it all and went mad when i bought my dslr recently despite me getting a second hand bargain
I have a few friends who take pictures....but when ever I ask them to take a picture of me it is either blurry or my head is chopped off....*sigh* Vacation shots are usually scarce of pics with me in them. I'd like to have SOME memory of having been there.... Will try and use my remote the next vacation I take....
Not even one! Only my sister is actually supportive of me, though - on NYE I had my tripod with me in case there were fireworks, which I've never photographed before and I got a LOT of mean, sarcastic comments from people (not my family, of course). Kind of sad, really... I don't put them down for playing Farmville in their spare time...
Have you checked for camera clubs in your area? I live in the St. Louis, MO, USA, area and we have one of the oldest and largest camera clubs (over 500 members, although not all are active). We have weekly lectures and photo competitions, as well as group outings. My family gets annoyed at all the pictures I take (although they like to have copies of them!) But I know if I go out with my camera club friends, no one gets upset if you want to take 300 pictures of a single flower!
@indiannie_jones - hahahahhahaha, everything about this made me laugh. And of course made me think of your fear of crowded places! Tripod is going to get some attention Annie, you know this. :P
None of my friends are really into it at all. My GF will bring her camera about when we go somewhere special. And I always get comments. Family, friends, whoever. Its funny.
@crappysailor Hahaha it's true! One was like {*rolls eyes* is this your job now?} and I was all HEY WHY AREN'T YOU WEARING YOUR DUNGAREES AND STRAW HAT? WHERE'D YA PARK YOUR TRACTOR?
But not really. I shrugged it off. BAH.
+ I've gotten really good with this whole whipping-out-the-camera-in-public thing. I've made a point of once a week! Except this week because I don't feel well :s
I am very lucky in this regard. Both my sisters take great photos and my best friend is a free-lance photographer. I get lots of inspiration from their work(s).
No one else in my family is like me -- and they think that I am really over the top now with this 365 project - late at night looking for something to photograph!
Just me in my family. My Mum thinks I'm weird for taking pictures of anything (her cooking dinner... her coffee... grated cheese...).
I have a couple friends who are doing A Level Photography.
I definitely feel that most of the people around me get tired of me and my camera....yet they all like being on the receiving end of photographs! Go figure.
Both of my parents are into photography. It's a hobby for them like it is for me. My youngest brother really enjoys taking pictures too... I wouldn't be surprised if he gets into it more as he grows older. :)
My Dad used to (still does a little) and I often borrowed his gear when I was young (even though I had my own froma very early age). My wife (Koshi) shoots, and shoots extremely well (though she doesn't seem to think so) and could easily shoot paid jobs if she decided to. No-one else though. My friends who are photogs are my friends because we met due to being photogs - I think that's probably fairly normal.

@sj same here. Everyone is always annoyed with me having a camera out,or on me at all times.

Most of my friend model for me though! :)

Haha, farmville. Annie you're crazy.

The other isn't here only because his internet speed will not allow him to be :(
As for family nope I am it, they are unfortunately not supportive and do not get why I get such a huge thrill out of taking photographs
