I just got my assignment for a local photo contest called Art of the Land.I am so excited. The Conservation District in my area started a contest last year to highlight the conservation properties in the counties around here. When you join the assign you a property & you can go take pics on it of anything on it you want. There are woods, prairies, wetlands, & farmlands. I didn't know what I wanted so I said I was open to anything. I got my assignment & the funny thing is it is a piece of conservation land that butts up against a piece of property we wanted to purchase & build on but couldn't afford to at the time (prior to the Real Estate tank in the US). It just feels so weird that that is the property I was assigned. I can't wait it is a mixture of things. there are 22 acres with trees, water, & even a bit of meadow. It is going to be so much fun. I plan on visiting several times to choose & then to photograph in different types of light!
