Questions about the Curated Page and Official top 20

Hello,
Just curious how one's photo get chosen for these elusive pages/topics? I have been a member for 6-7 years and never had any of my photos appear here. I am guessing that my photos are not professional enough, but I have no idea what is being look for here. Maybe there is an algorithm behind the scenes?

Any enlightenment or suggestions would be helpful.

@marylandgirl58 I too could never understand this Joyce, especially as many photos are posted double on both curated and trending. Then I heard about the magic monkeys. I do believe that Ross chooses the TT, but I am not sure ;-)

i'm pretty sure Ross did a blog post explaining these things a few years back... as i recall, the top twenty are the photos with the most faves garnered over the week... i'm not certain about the curated photos...

Although it discusses the Top 20, which, I have yet to break 13 Favs to any of my pics so that explains that, it doesn't mention the curated page, which I know came later, but I am sure its also based on Favs although I have seen some photos on there with a lower number of Favs. I guess I will just have to take that the Magic Monkeys don't know me!! Hahahahah!!! Thanks everybody~ I appreciated your answers!

Top twenty —-should be squirrels or any photo similar to National Geographic.
Curated ——should be flowers, dogs or cats.
Popular———should be anything as long it has some bokeh,framed and vignette.

I think curated page is chosen by Ross or @billbaroo as images they like or find noteworthy, I found one of my pictures there once but there is no notification. @kjarn @byrdlip @lsquared @northy ha one of mine is on there now, along with one of yours northy!

@kali66 hmmm....okay...I wonder if it makes a difference if they follow you or not. Good to know that there is no notification. It would make it hard to know if your picture ever got on there or not...

@marylandgirl58 unless you take the time to look there daily perhaps, most likely they find the images through the popular page, i dont think they follow me :)
