“Sometimes I do get to places just when God’s ready to have somebody click the shutter.” – Ansel Adams

Into my 5th year here, and still loving the community. Still a bit inconsistent in psoting (rather than daily), but really looking forward to 2019. I recently switched (after 35 years!) from Nikon SLR/DSLR to Fujifilm (Mirrorless X-T3), and and feeling energized. Hoping to keep the surge going for a long time!

I first started "serious" photography about 45 years ago, back in the day days of film / wet darkrooms. I've dabbled in a few areas (from college newspaper to microstock) but am firmly settled into shooting "for myself". I just wish all those years of experience had resulted in some more skills!

I have a preference for B&W, scenics and decay (the impermanence of mankind). But I'm not exclusive to anything. I'm a strong believer that the best camera is the one you have with you, and that the creative process doesn't end with pressing the shutter.

Born in West Virginia, spent my teen years in Pittsburgh, went to college in North Carolina... First (real) job was I Washington DC... Hanging out in the middle part of the USA (SW Illinois) for almost 30 years.

I have a couple of blogs, LSquared goes back to late 2004, and actually existed as an AOL member-page before that...
